In an interview with the local newspaper Felesteen, Sarraj explained that the Gaza City municipality immediately started to prepare reconstruction plans, but he said that their completion in a short period of time is contingent on the reopening of Gaza crossings with no restrictions and the readiness of donors and friends to provide the necessary funds for that purpose.

“We reassure the public that we have started instantly to lay reconstruction plans and contacted several donors in this regard. We may be able to start within the next few days to repair what we could in accordance with the material capabilities in our hands,” the mayor added.
