General Khalifa Hafter, the leader of the armed forces in eastern Libya, supported by the United States and some European countries, Egypt, Saudi regime and UAE, visited Egypt for the second time in the first month of his attack on the capital, Tripoli.
According to a written statement made by the Egyptian junta, General Haftar met with the coup leader Abdul Fattah el-Sisi and Intelligence Chief Brigadier General Abbas Kamil in the capital, Cairo.
The statement said that Sisi has reiterated its support for Hafter.
General Khalifa Haftar, the leader of the military forces in eastern Libya, launched an attack against the government supported by the UN on April 4 to take over the capital, Tripoli.
Conflicts between the National Consensus Government and Haftar's forces have been continuing for more than a month.
