Hamas condemned the attack on Rami al-Hamdallah's visit to the Gaza Strip, and allegations that Hamas was held responsible.
Hamas's spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a press statement that his Movement strongly condemns the attack on Hamdallah's convoy in Gaza, affirming that this crime is a thinly veiled attempt to undermine the reconciliation efforts and harm Gaza's security.
The Palestinian presidency accused Gaza administration of the attack. Barhoum condemned the accusations and stated that those who represented Hamas as targets were unable to reach their aims.
Barhoum also said that the attackers are the same perpetrators who martyred Muzen Faqhaya and who attempted assassination to Major General Tawfiq Abu Naim.
The Hamas spokesman demanded that the security authorities and the Ministry of the Interior open an urgent inquiry to uncover all the circumstances of the crime and bring the criminals to justice.
