Heavy downpour warning made for Istanbul

According to a statement made by the General Directorate of Meteorology Service, sudden heavy rainfall of 50 to 100 kilograms per square is expected in Istanbul, Turkiye's most populous city, on Sunday.

According to the statement made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the tropical storm on the Central Mediterranean is expected to affect the western parts of the country.

According to the latest assessments, 50 to 100 kilograms per square meter of rainfall in Istanbul is expected in the form of downpour and thunderstorms.

The heavy downpour is expected to hit the west of the Aegean (Izmir, Muğla, Aydın, and Manisa), west of Marmara (Çanakkale, Balıkesir, Tekirdağ, Kırklareli), the southern and western parts of Edirne at the speed of 100-120 kilometers.
