The statement comes after Egypt’s highest civilian court on Monday upheld death sentences against 12 senior Muslim Brotherhood figures, including Mohamed al-Beltagy, Safwat Hegazy, Abdel-Rahman el-Bar, Osama Yassin, and Ahmed Aref.
HÜDA PAR underlined that the decisions of the Sisi regime’s courts are not fair and impartial, and added: “Decisions made on the orders of the putschists for revenge are purely political. Egyptian courts are just kangaroo courts that only implement the orders of the junta regime. The putschist Sisi, who carried out a coup against the democratically-elected government and martyred the elected president, Mohammed Morsi, in prison and massacred thousands of innocents in Rabia Square, must be tried and we hope that one day he will be tried.”
HÜDA PAR also called on international organizations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation as well as Turkey and its president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who seek to normalize relations with the Sisi regime, to halt these political massacres that are being carried out under the guise of judicial decisions.
