HÜDA PAR calls on students to choose elective Kurmanji and Zazaki subjects

HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman Hasan Şahin urged students to take Islamic lessons as well as Kurmanji and Zazaki dialects of Kurdish language as elective subjects in Turkey’s public schools.

The application process for elective subjects that will be taken in public schools in 2021 has started in Turkey.

Students are required to report their preferred courses to headteachers by January 22, 2021.

“We call on parents to choose Islamic lessons as well as Kurmanji and Zazaki dialects of Kurdish language for their children as elective subjects,” Şahin said.

Kurdish-language lessons have become an elective subject in Turkey’s public schools since 2012.
