HUDA PAR issues statement of support for mother staged sit-in protest

HUDA PAR expressed support for the families who took part in the sit-in protest outside HDP Diyarbakir office on the grounds that their children had been kidnapped deceptively by the PKK.

"Mothers have the right to want their children and we would like to point out that we are on the side of their desire to be reunited with their children," HUDA PAR said in a statement issued to support mothers, who have staged sit-in protest outside HDP local office in Diyarbakır, demanding their kidnapped children back.

The weekly internal agenda assessment by HUDA PAR HQ also made suggestions for the economy and production, which shrank in the first two quarters of the year.

HUDA PAR drew attention that families have applied for this form of action after Hacire Akar, who received a positive result with her sit-in protest outside the HDP local office in Diyarbakır.

Currently, the number of families participating in the sit-in is over 18, hoping to be reunited with their children. The action of mothers who act in the hope of meeting their children is interpreted differently in different circles.

On the one hand, efforts to deflect the cries of mothers who are burning with the desire to meet their children, on the other hand, the claims that lead to insults towards the attitude of the families are flying in the air.

"The number of missing young people is expressed in the tens of thousands"

The method of armed conflict that the organization [PKK] has applied in the region for a long time causes the fact that young people kidnapped or taken to the rural areas recruited by the organization.

HUDA PAR pointed out that the number of young people who have died, been killed, disappeared and never heard from in conflicts or internal executions in the ranks of armed organizations is expressed in the tens of thousands.

An important part of those young people is children. This situation already forms a state that keeps trauma alive constantly in the region.

"We stand with mothers"

"It is not a human attitude to explain this action of mothers with different reasons," HUDA PAR said.

"No doubt every mother desires to have her child by her side and does not change that desire to any worldly goods."

"Therefore, it is not a humane attitude to try to explain the desire of mothers with different reasons, those who want to be reunited with their children, even if those children kidnapped to the rural areas," the statement read.

"Mothers have the right to want their children and we would like to point out that we stand with the desire of mothers to have their children back."

"If legitimate demands were met, there would be no grounds for abuse"

"There are Kurdish people with legitimate demands, state officials who ignore legitimate demands, and armed organizations that use legitimate demands as a ground for abuse."

If there is no permanent solution to this actual situation, this practice, which is brought back to the agenda today with the cries of mothers, will continue to be a vicious cycle that is difficult to overcome.

If legitimate demands were met, there would be no grounds for abuse, and young people would not be in a position to tear their mothers' heart by being an abuse of others.

"This vicious cycle that swallows young people will not end unless solution-oriented perspectives are developed"

Today, it is necessary to give voice to the heartfelt cries of mothers and to share their feelings without sacrificing them to the heroism, and to avoid falling into the simplicity of treating innocent and righteous demands with contempt and label them as spies.

"Everyone, especially the authorities, should rethink the suffering, eliminate the areas of abuse and focus on deep-rooted solutions to meet legitimate demands," the statement read.

HUDA PAR warned that this vicious cycle that swallows young people will not end unless solution-oriented perspectives are developed and it will continue to come before us again and again with different tragedies.
