Idlib to be the main agenda item in the talks in Iran

Iranian President Hasan Rouhani, Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will meet tomorrow in Tehran for a tripartite summit.

Tomorrow, a trio will be held in Tehran with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, hosted by Iranian President Hasan Rouhani.

The operation launched against Idlib is expected to be discussed in the summit as well as the recent situation in Syria.

Turkiye, Iran, and Russia are the guarantor countries in Astana process for the establishment of regional de-escalation zones and conducting negotiations between the opposition groups with the Syrian regime.

Leaders are expected to hold a joint press conference after the meeting.

Some comments in the Russian media suggest that Putin's most important part of his visit to Tehran will be a head-to-head interview with Erdoğan.

The process according to the consensus reached within the scope of Astana, Turkiye set up 12-observation checkpoint in Idlib, Russia has placed 10 observation points and Iran has 7 observation points.
