Turkiye Statistical Institute [Turkstat] announced Monday the Consumer Price Index [CPI] and domestic producer price index [PPI] data, including inflation figures for October.
A rise in the general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 2.67%, on December of the previous year by 22.56%, on the same month of the previous year by 25.24% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 14.90% in October 2018.The highest monthly increase was 12.74% in clothing and footwearIn October 2018, the indices rose for housing 4.15%, for furnishing and household equipment 3.44%, for food and non-alcoholic beverages 3.22% and for recreation and culture 2.07%.The only monthly decrease was 0.85% in transportationIn October 2018, the index declined only for transportation amongst the main groups by 0.85%. The highest annual increase was 37.92% in furnishing and household equipmentTransportation with 32.00%, miscellaneous goods, and services with 31.50%, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 29.26% and housing with 25.72% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.The highest monthly increase was 3.84% in Mardin, Batman, Şırnak, SiirtThe highest increases in CPI were recorded in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye region with 25.41% compared with the December of the previous year," said the data.
In Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye region with 28.63% compared with the same month of the previous year and in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye region with 16.68% on the twelve months moving averages basis. The monthly highest increase was 3.84 percent in Mardin, Batman, Şırnak, Siirt.In October 2018 within average prices of 407 items in the index, average prices of 42 items remained unchanged while average prices of 328 items increased and average prices of 37 items decreased.
