Iran parliament designates US Army as terrorist group

Iranian lawmakers have approved a motion that declares all US military forces as terrorist on Tuesday.

The move  is a step further from one last week that saw lawmakers approve a bill  declaring just US troops in the Middle East as terrorist in order to respond the US designation of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist group earlier this month.

The bill was passed with 229 votes in favor, three against, and 2 abstentions.

On 3 January 2020, amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, the U.S. launched a drone strike on a convoy traveling near Baghdad International Airport, killing ten passengers, including Iranian major general and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Quds Forces commander Qasem Soleimani, Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces commander Abu Mahdi al- Muhandis, four senior Iranian officers and four Iraqi officers.
