Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi pays a visit to Iran

Khadimi was received by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Tuesday afternoon on his first official state trip abroad as premier, Iraqi PM's office announced.

President Hassan Rouhani officially welcomed the Prime Minister of Iraq Mustafa Al-Kadhimi on Tuesday at Summit Hall in Tehran.

At the official welcoming ceremony, which started with playing the national anthems of the two countries, Rouhani and Al-Kadhimi reviewed the honour guards and then introduced their high-ranking delegations to each other.

The Iraqi prime minister and the Iranian president then headed for the bilateral meeting venue after the official ceremony.

Further deepening of bilateral relations in different political, economic and cultural fields, and negotiations on the most important regional and international relations, as well as development of Baghdad-Tehran cooperation and relations are among the topics that are going to be discussed.

Prime Minister al-Kadhimi is accompanied by the ministers of foreign affairs, electricity, finance, defence, and health, as well as the Iraqi Advisor for National Security in this visit.
