President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the 70th anniversary of Ankara University’s Faculty of Divinity.

Speaking at the 70th anniversary of Ankara University’s Faculty of Divinity, President Erdoğan said: "Islam is a religion of peace and a Muslim is a person who works for peace. We can neither provide humanity with the services we desire nor resolve any issue of ours unless we place Islam as such at the heart of our lives."

Describing Islam as a religion of peace and a Muslim as a person that promotes peace, President Erdoğan said: "We can neither provide humanity with the services we desire nor resolve any issue of ours unless we place Islam as such at the heart of our lives."

President Erdoğan stated: "None of us can find peace without taking down the walls of terror and sectarian bigotry erected among Muslims. The responsibility to lead on this issue rests with you, the scholars and theologians. You will clear the way and Muslims will follow you. This is the biggest jihad of our age."
