Since it was in force, the anger against the "Istanbul Convention", which put dynamite on the foundations of families, has been growing steadily.
Theologians pointed out that this convention, imported from Europe, does not correspond with the family structure of Muslims and especially the structure of Turkey's society.
Asking, "What is the goal of this convention? Why was it imposed on Turkey as an international convention and Turkey accepted it under EU harmonization laws?" theologian Ömer Mert continued as follows:
"We see that this convention has 3 main objectives. The first is the legitimization of homosexuality, the second is the idolization of women, and the third is the dissolution of the family."
"Global powers are intervening in the family"
Stating that global forces are intervening especially in the family, Mert noted that those forces are trying to bring down the Muslim community through the family.
"They ran it through soap operas for a long time. A left-wing writer talks about 350 soap operas dictated to Turkish society.
I know that these soap operas are made up of four main elements. First, these soap operas encourage extramarital sex and give birth from that extramarital relationship."
Underlining that the second target of soap operated leads to alcohol, Mert added that the third leads to the understanding that every path to a career is acceptable, and the fourth leads to solving all relationships with mafia structures.
"Turning homosexuality into a legitimized"
"The Istanbul Convention" never matches our texture and family structure, Mert said and noted that divorces are increasing and marriages are decreasing in Turkey's society after the signing of the Istanbul Convention.
Criticizing Istanbul Convention, Mert underlined that the family is having a great depression after the sing of the convention.
"Homosexuality is being legitimized. A same-sex marriage took place in the Bosporus just after Turkey signed the Istanbul Convention, and some TVs broadcasting it live.
They introduced it to society as if it were legitimate. As a continuation of this convention, the transition of transgender persons to government office without examination was also accelerated," he said.
At the end of his words, Mert called on all NGOs, opinion leaders, those who care about the society to make efforts to have this agreement renounced as soon as possible.
