Khashoggi's body dismembered and destroyed

Khashoggi's body was dismembered and his remains were destroyed following his death by suffocation said Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in a statement on Wednesday.

Istanbul Public Prosecutor General stated that the dissident Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was suffocated to death in a premeditated killing as soon as he entered Saudi consulate in Istanbul and added that his body was dismembered and destroyed.

The statement made by the Prosecutor General said the following statements:

"In the context of investigating the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Istanbul Consulate General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 02/10/2018, it is known to the public that the authorities of the Republic of Turkiye and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have agreed to investigate, to reveal all the details and to bring perpetrators and planners before the jurisdictions."

In line with the reached agreement, the Saudi Arabia Kingdom of the Attorney General, Mr. Saud Al Muceb and his accompanying delegation came to Turkiye on 28.10.2018.

"It has been declared that Journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the territory of the Republic of Turkiye that the investigation and jurisdiction belong to the courts of the Republic of Turkiye in accordance with the legal regulations of the Republic of Turkiye and general principles of the universal law. The suspects arrested in Saudi Arabia were requested again for extradition," said the Prosecutor Office.

"In spite of all our well-intentioned efforts to reveal the truth, no concrete results could be obtained from the meeting," said Irfan Fidan, Istanbul Chief Prosecutor.
