Magnitude 5.4 earthquake hits Philippines

A 5.4 magnitude earthquake jolted the southern Philippine province of Davao Oriental early on Sunday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

The earthquake had had a depth of 42 km (26.1 miles), the agency said.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage from the earthquake that occurred at 08:09 p.m.
