Magnitude 5.8 earthquake strikes off Japan’s Ibaraki prefecture

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of Japan's eastern prefecture of Ibaraki on Sunday, Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The earthquake took placed at around 19:10 JST, with its epicenter at a latitude of 36,6 degrees north and a longitude of 141.1 degrees east, the agency said.

According to the local reports, the earthquake was also felt in cities including Tokyo and Fukushima.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or property damage from the earthquake.
