Military helicopter crashes in Istanbul kills 4

A military helicopter crashed Monday in Istanbul Sancaktepe, 4 soldiers lost their lives.

A military helicopter crashed in the Sarigazi neighborhood in Sancaktepe. Four soldiers in the helicopter died in the accident, one soldier was injured.

Ali Yerlikaya, Governor of Istanbul, who gave information about the helicopter crash that was learned to take training flight, also confirmed that 4 soldiers lost their lives in the crash and that a soldier was injured.

Regarding the falling military helicopter, the Istanbul Governor's Office said four military personnel were killed and one person was injured.

"A military helicopter belongs to our Land Forces Command and was taking training flight has fallen on Fırtına Street in Sarıgazi Neighborhood of Sancaktepe district at 11: 00 hours due to a reason that cannot be detected yet," the statement read.

The statement confirmed the death of 4 soldiers on the board while one other soldier injured in the crash.

"There is no information about our civilian citizens being injured at the scene," the statement said.
