Missing in flood, teams find bodies of mother and daughter in Düzce

Missing after the flood disaster in Düzce, bodies of the mother and her 9-year-old daughter found by teams on Tuesday.

The bodies of the woman and her daughter were found in Uğurlu village, about 6 kilometers from their home in Esmahanim village, as part of the work of AFAD teams.

Named Nilgün Kaplan, 39, and her 9-old-years daughter Funda Kaplan, bodies were found 20 meters away from each other.

Funerals are expected to be buried on Tuesday.

Teams continue the search in the area to find the remaining 2 missing children.

Seven people were missing after strong downpours in Düzce, a north-west province of Turkey, on Wednesday evening, July 17, and Thursday night, July 18, caused flooding and landslides in many spots and caused Melen Creek to be flooded which effected in Cumayeri, Gölyaka and Akçakoca Districts.
