More than 2 tons marijuana seized in Turkey, Trade Minister says

Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan announced in a statement on Twitter that more than 2 tons marijuana was seized at the Kapıkule border crossing between Turkey and Bulgaria on Tuesday.

Turkish customs enforcement forces seized 2 tons of marijuana at the border crossing with Bulgaria from a truck, which was stopped at the border gate in Edirne province of northwest Turkey.

"2 tons 70 kg of marijuana has seized from in a suspected truck at Kapıkule customs gate. It has been the highest amount of drugs seized at border gates at one time in the history of our country," the minister said.
