Most of Muslim countries playgrounds for political proxy wars

Turkiye's Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalın said Friday that sixty percent of the world's conflicts in Muslim countries when most of the Muslim countries became a playground for political proxy wars.

Speaking at the panel on "Achieving Peace and Security in a World of Turmoil," organized by the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Center For Islamic Countries [SESRIC], President Spokesman Ibrahim Kalın said 60% of the conflicts in the world are in Muslim countries, and that these conflicts have consumed resources.

"This must be a difficult lesson for all of us," he stated and underlined that Muslims need political leadership and unity to overcome the problems they face.

Assessing that most of Muslims countries became a playground for political wars, Kalın underlined that conflicts consume Muslim countries' social energy and natural resources.

Stating that Muslim countries have the youngest population and natural resources, Kalın said these countries are not as poor as people think.
