“Palestinians living abroad have a growing and continuous role in support of the Palestinian cause but they are facing unusual difficulties to fight off the challenges posed to their cause,” Salah said while speaking at a political forum on Friday.
Saleh underlined that HAMAS is playing significant role in mobilizing Palestinians abroad in support of the Palestinian cause, adding that members of Hamas take part in all projects supportive of the Palestinian cause abroad.
HAMAS bets on Palestinians at home and abroad as well, Salah stressed, noting that the zionist occupation has waged a “fierce against Palestinian abroad to cut any connection with their fellow Palestinians at home following the 2014 israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip.”
Salah regretted that the Palestinian embassies had failed to assume their role towards Palestinians abroad.
The HAMAS chief abroad said that his movement is the only party, to some extent, to support Palestinian refugees in Lebanon’s refugee camps and call for their political and social rights.
Salah noted that the Palestinians abroad are working on undermining the public opinion towards the Israeli occupation and supporting Palestinian refugees and Palestinians at home.
The Palestinian community in the United States, meanwhile, are facing off Israeli lobby groups, Salah stressed.
“The Palestinians abroad have played a major role in establishing two main movements, HAMAS and Fatah, and provided enormous and significant support for the Palestinians at home and the Palestinian resistance over a long period of time,” Salah continued.
Salah called for activating the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), adding that the Palestinians abroad have a right to select who represents them.
Salah described normalization of ties between some Arab countries and the zionist occupation as “fake”, noting that the Arab public reject normalization with the zionist occupation.
“The fight against normalization is an awareness campaign and a political and media battle,” Salah confirmed, hailing Kuwait for its stance in this regard and its support for the Palestinian cause.
As for Palestinians held captive in Syria and Saudi Arabia, Salah said that no progress has been made in this regard, regretting that the situation is “hard and complicated” but HAMAS has not ceased its efforts and attempts to release them.
Salah revealed that head of HAMAS Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh had sent a letter to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on this matter.
