NATO calls Russia to release Ukrainians sailors and ships

Expressing their full support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg urged Russia to release Ukraine's ships and sailors.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg held a press conference following the extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Brussels.

Stating that all NATO members expressed their full support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, Stoltenberg said: "We call on Russia to release immediately the Ukrainian sailors and ships it seized yesterday."

"There is no justification for the use of military force against Ukrainian ships and naval personnel," he added.

Stoltenberg also called on Russia to ensure unhindered access to Ukrainian ports and allow freedom of navigation for Ukraine in the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait.
