The "free trade agreement" package prepared by the United States aims to increase the trade volume between Turkey and the United States to $100 billion.
The package expected to include the sale of the Patriot defense missile system to Turkey, the submission of new proposals for the F-35 program, and the reduction of customs duties on aluminum and steel.
It has revealed that the new US Ambassador to Ankara, David Satterfield, had a meeting on the issue at the Turkish Presidency Complex on previous Friday.
US Trade Secretary Wilbur Ross recently came to Turkey and met with the Turkish trade minister Ruşar Pekcan as part of the work on the 100 billion dollar target.
"I believe it is important to get Turkey back into the F-35 program," U.S. Senator Lyndsay Graham said Sunday following a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in New York. "Maybe there could even be a free trade agreement with Turkey," he added.
