Oil will not be exported from the Persian Gulf if the US blocks our oil exports: Rouhani

"If the US tries to block our oil exports, no oil will be exported from the Persian (Basra) Gulf," said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday.

Addressing a gathering of people in the northeastern city of Shahrud, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani gave harsh messages to the US.

Saying the Washington government is seeking to undermine Tehran’s relations with the world, Rouhani underlined that they are in a sincere relationship with Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait.

"The US would not be able to separate Iran from regional nations, with whom it has had close ties for centuries," he said.

"We will protect our economic, cultural and political relations with the region and the world, and we will increase our relationship level," said Rouhani.

Rouhani noted that the U.S. failed to deal with the coup and separatism plans it was pursuing in Iran. "The United States was trying to make us kneel down by imposing sanctions on our country, but failed to do so," Rouhani added.

"Oil exports will not be made if the US blocks our oil exports"

Stating that the United States said it would stop Iran's oil exports and prevent commercial shipments between the world and Iran, Rouhani noted that the US planned to leave Iran alone in the region and the world.

"If the United States tries to block our oil exports, no oil exports will be made from the Persian Gulf," he said.
