One police killed, another injured by alleged drug dealer in Istanbul, Turkey

One police was killed, another injured when they attempted to detain an alleged drug dealer in the Bağcılar district of Turkey's northwestern Istanbul province on Saturday.

According to Istanbul Governor's office, the attack took place at 14:00 o'clock when police officers attempted to arrest the fugitive drug dealer who has criminal records for 75 offences including theft, dealing drugs and pickpocketing.

Police officer Erkan Gökteke, who was injured in the attack, has lost his life in the hospital where he was treated.

The perpetrator of the attack were arrested along with two accomplices, the office added.

Along with the attackers, 3 weapons were recovered, one of which was a shotgun.
