Operation against Adnan Oktar and his group: 235 detention

Police arrested some 235 suspects in the operation against Adnan Oktar and his group on the claim of ridiculing religious values in the television programs.

An operation has been launched against Adnan Oktar and his group, who stated that he ridiculed religious values on the programs he made on a television channel and have been involved in various indictments. Police took 235 suspects into custody on early Wednesday along with the group leader Adnan Oktar.

Among the charges are "establishing gangsterism", "international spying", "money laundering", "threat" and "blackmail". It was stated that a large number of weapons, steel vests, and armored vehicles were seized as a result of the operation.

It was learned that Oktar and his guards were taken into custody at his home in Çengelköy, Istanbul.

As it is known, there were many complaints about Adnan Oktar and his group. Citizens sued Adnan Oktar many times on the grounds that they ridicule religious values in their programs.

Citizens say, "Adnan Oktar, the so-called person on the A9 Channel, is chatting about Islam with supposedly partly naked women gathered around him. The purpose of this is to ridicule Islam. Most of the women are partly naked in there. This program is a humiliation of Islam. As citizens, we complain about Adnan Oktar."
