Opposition wins critical Brexit vote

In Britain, the opposition won a critical vote aimed at preventing a no-deal Brexit. In parliament, the power to set an agenda has passed to the opposition. Parliament will convene to prevent a no-deal Brexit.

MPs seeking to block UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson from implementing a "no-deal Brexit" process from the European Union (EU) have won the critical vote in the House of Commons and taken control of the parliamentary agenda.

The number of those who supported opponents and said "Yes" was 328, while the number of "no" remained at 301.

Opponents of a "no-deal Brexit," including ruling Conservative Party MPs, will push the bill, which would prevent Boris Johnson's plan, into parliament's agenda on September 4.

The draft envisions Prime Minister Boris Johnson being forced to postpone Brexit rather than a no-deal separation. Under the bill, Brexit could be delayed until 31 January 2020.

Boris Johnson, who lost the vote, will offer a motion to call an early election in return.
