Within the scope of the operation initiated by the Turkish Armed Forces, the Afrin people who had to leave their homes due to conflicts in and around the Afrin district of Syria's Aleppo city, are happy they left bad days behind by the cleanse of YPG/PKK from the region.
In the region where the life is starting to return to normal, the people who have escaped from the oppression of the YPG/PKK and migrated to other places are returning to their homes. Many people of Afrin began to return to their homes with loaded trucks and tractors. The happiness of the people of the region, who had to flee from the homes, could be seen on the faces.
Muhammad Hamid, who was living in Jindires of Afrin, had to flee from the town after the PKK forced his children to join them as militants.
"We all left our home because of the tyrant of the PKK"
Ali Abdo also said that the YPG/PKK misbehaved to people and were trying to mobilize all people, without discrimination of men and women. "We had to leave the city because of these conflicts. We took shelter in a bare field near Şeran village. We left our home because of the tyrant of the PKK. Now we go back home."
"We do not want the war anywhere in Syria"
Tahir Ali Muhammad said that he is happy that he returns home, but also added her sadness by the fact that of too much damage to homes and shops.
"We were a wealthy family in Afrin. They took our heavy machines and our tractors. They left nothing to us. They took everything as well as our olive oil. They are cruel to us. They entered Afrin and took away what we had. We now want unity and brotherhood. We do not want war. Not just today, we do not want war for every day. We do not want war in anywhere of Syria," said Tahir Ali.
"We now want interests and beauty"
Tahir Ali Mustafa, another resident of Afrin, who had to leave homeland due to PKK, said the PKK took everything that he had. "We not want peace and beauty. They stole everything that we had. We are not enemy, we are human. We Arabs and Kurds are all brothers. Then why is this persecution?" he asked.
Meron Ibrahim said the PKK looted everything he had. "We do not want war or any other persecution. They were taking us forcibly to join them. But we did not want to. That is why they looted everything I had," he said.
"We do not want war, we want peace"
Murat Yahya stated that some of those who left the city because of the persecution of the PKK started to return to their homes by adding; "There was a great cruelty on the nation here. Now the PKK has left our city. People are returning to their homes. We do not want war, we want peace."
"We are not willing to persecute"
Muhammad Hasan, who stated that he wanted everyone to continue his life in peace on his own soil, said: "We are not willing to persecute. We want to live in peace. We want the days of interest. We want everyone to keep their lives in peace on their own soil. My children are all in Istanbul now. I stayed here with my wife and my little boy."
