The developments in Syria, the establishment of the safe zone, the fight against terror, bilateral commercial relations with the US, the latest situation in Libya were discussed during the phone call.
Details of the matters discussed during the latest phone conversation between President Erdoğan and US President Trump were also addressed.
The meeting to be held between the two leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly during President Erdoğan’s visit to New York on September 22-25 was discussed.
Accelerating the steps for a safe zone in northern Syria, maintaining the Idlib Memorandum, rapidly completing the Constitutional Committee were talked through and the determination to implement measures which would prevent possible humanitarian tragedies and new refugee influxes was voiced.
It was stated that the Turkish side completed its preparations to put into action without delay the Turkey-US joint operation plan.
Also, US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross’ visit to Turkey in the days ahead and the importance of the impetus, the targeted $100 billion trade volume would give to the trade relations between the two countries, were discussed.
