Red Cross warns for Yemen

International President of the Confederation of the Red Cross Francesco Rocca said that the humanitarian emergency in Yemen reached the "disaster" dimension.

Rocca said that the blockade imposed on Yemen by the Saudi coalition has caused severe food insecurity and an unprecedented increase in infectious diseases in the country.

Many Yemenis, especially children, need clean water, food and emergency medical assistance to survive.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also stated that the world's biggest humanitarian crisis is happening in Yemen.

Since March 2015, Yemen, which targeted by Saudi Arabia with the support of the US, Britain, the UAE and some other countries, has suffered from a variety of infectious diseases, suffering from food, medicine and medical supplies due to dense and tight embargo exposed from land and sea.

While some countries in the region are trying to find diplomatic solutions to the Yemeni crisis and war, some countries, such as the US, support Saudi to continue the war intensively in this small and poor country of the Middle East.
