The increase of flow rate of Tundzha and Maritza Rivers continue after heavy rains in Turkiye's Edirne and snowmelt in Bulgaria.
In the village of Değirmeniyeni, where the roads submerged because of floods, also houses and some heavy machinery were flooded.
Meanwhile, due to the rise of the rivers, Kanuni, Fatih, Saraçhane and Yanlızgöz bridges, which provided transportation to Yıldırım and Yeniimaret neighborhoods, where about 10 thousand people live, were also closed to traffic.
Edirne Governor Günay Özdemir said they formed a crisis table in the governorate about the floods. Özdemir also examined the flow rate of Tundzha and Maritza Rivers. "We are following this problem daily, especially with the Bulgarian authorities. At the same time, we share this information on the website of our State Hydraulic Works," said Governor Özdemir.
