Asylum seekers clashed with the police after a Senegalese street vendor lost his life while he was running from the police in Madrid, capital of Spain.
At least 30 people, including 10 police officers were injured in clashes took place in the historic Lavapiés neighborhood where the refugee population is intense.
Hundreds of protesters fired a bank building in the Lavapies neighborhood, broke the windows of the bus stops. The demonstrators burned plastic waste bins in the area and closed the narrow streets.
In a statement made by the Madrid police, the clashes that started at 21:00 local time on Thursday evening lasted for 4.5 hours, protesters were interfered with plastic bullets, and 6 people were taken into custody.
On the other hand, the Spanish police announced that the Senegalese vendor died of cardio-respiratory arrest while running from the police.
