Revenue from oil fields to go to PKK/YPG, Pentagon's spokesman says

Revenue from oil fields in northeast Syria will go to U.S. partner forces in the region and not the United States, the Pentagon's spokesman said Thursday.

The Pentagon announced on Thursday that the US was not profiting from Syrian oil, despite sending troops to protect oilfields in the country's east but revenue will go to Us partner in the region.

"The revenue from this is not going to the U.S. this is going to the SDF," Jonathan Hoffman told reporters at the Pentagon, referring to the PKK/YPG.

US President Donald Trump announced on October 6 that about 1,000 US troops were leaving north-east Syria.

But then, US President Donald Trump said last month that American oil companies could take control of oil fields in northeastern Syria that are currently controlled by the PKK/YPG.
