Russia suspends grain exports until July 1

The Russian Agriculture Ministry announced on April 26 that it was suspending its grain export until July 1.

Russia will continue grain export to members of the Moscow-led Eurasian Economic Union (EES), which includes other post-Soviet states Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Russia's export ban covers wheat, maize, barley and rye as well as a mixture of grains called meslin.

Russia, the world's top wheat exporter, exported more than 35 million tons of wheat and 43.3 million tons of all grains in the agricultural year from 2018-2019.
