Russia: We were not warned about Turkey's operations in Idlib

Russia made a statement on Monday about the attack that killed 4 Turkish troops and injured 9, including 1 in critical condition, in northern Syria.

About the attack, in which Syrian government forces targeted the Turkish military in northern Syria, Russia’s Defense Ministry said that the incident took place because Russia had not been warned about Turkey’s operations in the country.

It added that neither Turkish jet fighters violated Syria’s border nor attacks on Syrian troops were recorded.

Reacting harshly against the attack, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkish military would continue to retaliate against attacks on its troops in Idlib.
