According to local sources, a large number of police forces spread outside the Mosque and through its courtyards to provide protection for the settlers during their tours at the Islamic holy site.
The Islamic Awqaf authority in Occupied Jerusalem reopened the Aqsa Mosque at dawn Sunday to Muslim worshipers for the first time since its closure in mid-March as a measure to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Later in the morning, the Israeli occupation police gave themselves the right to allow Jewish settlers to tour the holy site and arrested some Palestinians on a charge of their presence in the courtyards during the settlers’ tours.
