Snowfall warning for the region hit by earthquake in eastern Turkey

According to Turkish General Directorate of Meteorology, starting from this evening, snowfall will prevail over the region hit by earthquake in eastern Turkey.

Snowfall is expected to be heavily in Malatya and the southern and high parts of Elazığ, including Sivrice, Baskil and Pütürge districts.

Currently, temperatures around seasonal average, will decrease from tomorrow and plunge below the seasonal normal in the weekend.

On 24 January, the 6.8-magnitude occurred in Elazığ province of eastern Turkey. The earthquake's epicenter was close to the town of Sivrice and felt in the neighboring provinces of Diyarbakır, Malatya and Adıyaman, and the neighboring countries of Armenia, Syria and Iran. A total of 41 people were killed and more than 1,600 were injured.
