Social media accounts to be scrutinized in Turkiye for today

Social media accounts were closely monitored by the Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority in order to ensure cyber security in local elections.

In order to ensure cybersecurity in the local elections, the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) established a "Cyber Table" consists of 100 people.

Social media accounts such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Google will closely be followed by ICTA during the voting period.

Turkiye's cyber mobility is monitored from the centre where MIT, Security and gendarme units are involved.

ICTA, which will take action against manipulative movements if deemed necessary, will monitor all kinds of posts shared on social media that will provoke and direct citizens to hatred and anger.

It was stated that necessary measures were taken with Turkcell, Vodafone and Turk Telekom in order to ensure uninterrupted continuity of the communication network throughout Turkiye.
