South Africa's ambassador to the Palestinian territories Ashraf Suleiman confirmed his country's full support of the Palestinian people's rights and denounced the recent zionist attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.
Sulaiman praised the efforts exerted on the regional and international level to lift Gaza siege, end the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and achieve reconciliation.
These statements were voiced during a meeting between Suleiman and the head of Hamas's Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza.
Based on a statement released by Hamas on Sunday, Haniyeh and Suleiman discussed the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause in general and the Gaza Strip in particular.
For his part, Haniyeh praised the great role played by South Africa in supporting the Palestinian cause over the past years.
Haniyeh warned of recent developments in the Palestinian arena that are aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause, dropping the right of return, escalating settlement construction, and separating the West Bank from the Gaza Strip.
Hamas's leader slammed the US decision to add the movement's deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri on its list of "terrorists" and to offer a reward for information leading to capture him.
He also called on South Africa to pressure the US to backtrack on its decision, which serves the interests of gang regime.
