Spain coronavirus: 311 people die in the past 24 hours

Spain has reported 311 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the county’s death toll to 23,521.

The number of confirmed cases has been 209,465, an increase of 1,831 cases in the past 24 hours.

About 100,875 patients suffering from coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

Spain has the second-highest coronavirus cases after the U.S. and the third-highest number of deaths after the U.S. and Italy.

The actual number of cases, however, is likely to be much higher, as many people with only mild or no symptoms are unlikely to have been tested. The number of deceased is also believed to be an underestimate due to lack of testing and reporting in the country.
