State of Emergency Commission finalizes 84,000 applications

The State of Emergency Procedures Review Commission has finalized 84,300 of the 126,200 applications made by the decree-law concerning the persons expelled from the profession and the institutions closed so far.

The commission has finalized applications regarding persons expelled from office, the discontinuation of the student scholarship, the removal of the ranks of retired security personnel and closed institutions and organizations under the state of emergency decree.

A total of 250 personnel, 80 of them rapporteurs (judges, experts, inspectors), were assigned within the commission.

A special information-processing infrastructure has been established by the commission for receiving, archiving and reviewing applications in electronic media.

Information obtained from more than 20 institutions and organizations related to applications was recorded in this system. In addition, decisions made by judicial authorities were followed through the UYAP system.

The commission, which began adjudicating the files from December 22, 2017, has so far finalized 84,300 applications. The commission rejected 77,600 of the applications.

41,900 applications are still under review.

The commission decided to reopen 28 institutions, including student dormitories, associations and television stations.
