Thousands attend Eid prayer and khutba at Aqsa Mosque

Over 27,000 Muslim worshipers observed the Eid al-Adha prayer and khutba (sermon) on Friday morning, according to the Islamic Awqaf Department in Occupied Jerusalem.

Palestinian citizens of all ages flocked to the Mosque in the early morning hours to perform the Fajr and Eid prayers.

In his khutba, Grand Mufti of Palestine Sheikh Mohamed Hussein stressed that the Aqsa Mosque is an Islamic holy site exclusively belonging to the Muslim nation and that all Israeli attempts to establish a foothold in the Mosque would be doomed to failure.

Sheikh Hussein also called on the Palestinians to close ranks to face the challenges threatening Jerusalem, their holy sites and rights.
