Top Turkish police chief killed in southeastern Turkey

Hasan Cevher, the deputy director of the Provincial Police Department of Hakkari, was killed by another police officer on Tuesday afternoon.

Cevher was shot to death by a fellow officer while he was working at his office in Hakkari, a Kurdish majority city in southeast Turkey.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, Turkish officials said.
