Trump blames Obama's deal with PKK was tough

"When President Obama took the PKK when they bring in PKK, that's a tough deal, because that's been a mortal enemy of Turkey," Trump told reporters at the White House.

U.S. President Donald Trump answered questions at the White House regarding Turkey's campaign into the east of the Euphrates.

Trump also used the phrase PKK directly for the YPG.

"When President Obama took the PKK when they bring in PKK, that's a tough deal, because that's been a mortal enemy of Turkey. So when you bring them into a partnership, it's a tough situation. It's tough for Turkey," Trump told reporters.

Trump said he talks about Syria's north with Turkey for 3 years, adding that Turkey has been asking for years for the United States to withdraw its troops from the region. "Turkey and the PKK have been fighting for years. We were left in the middle of this war."

"It was only supposed to take 30 days, but we've been there for years. Now it's time to talk to the parties and get out of there. We told Erdoğan how we felt, but we are talking to both sides. We're out of endless wars now," Trump concluded.
