Trump may scrap Iran deal: Macron

French President Macron said Trump tends to scrap the nuclear deal with Iran.

President Emmanuel Macron of France said he does not know whether the US President Donald Trump would pull out of the nuclear deal with Iran, but Trump's statement tends to scrap the deal he added.

Macron, who went to the US for three days to discuss Iran with Trump, met with students at George Washington University. Macron said at a subsequent press conference that he expects Trump to pull out of the deal with Iran.

Trump and Macron want the new deal to contain provisions that will reduce Iran's nuclear program, as well as the country's effectiveness in the region.

Recognizing the current deal as "insane," Trump is demanding that the signatories agree that the enrichment of uranium should be stopped completely. In the current deal, restrictions on enriching uranium are taking off in 2025.
