Turkey reports 6,454 new coronavirus cases, 87 deaths

87 more people have died due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the disease to 48,428, Turkey’s Health Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the number of confirmed cases rose to 5,306,690, after 6,454 more people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

While at least 1,018 patients are in critical condition, 5,179,833 patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital.

More than 56,123,336 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted to detect infections in the country.
