Turkey summoned U.S. ambassador in Turkey to the Foreign Ministry over House votes on sanctions, mass killings of Armenians a century ago as genocide.

After the House of Representatives recognized mass killings of Armenians a century ago as genocide and called for sanctions over Turkey’s "Peace Spring Operation" in northern Syria, The U.S. ambassador in Turkey was summoned on Wednesday to the Foreign Ministry.

Turkey does not accept the so-called genocide, acknowledging that there were deaths on both sides during the incidents of World War I.
