Turkey welcomes the agreement on the ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine

Turkey has expressed its support for the agreement on the ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine.

"We welcome the agreement reached by the OSCE Trilateral Contact Group on additional strengthening measures to establish a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in the east of Ukraine as of 27 July 2020," said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hami Aksoy in a written statement.

"We expect all relevant parties to act in line with this agreement," Aksoy said.

"Turkey will continue to support the efforts aimed at ensuring peace in the region on the basis of preserving the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the implementation of the Minsk Agreements," Aksoy added.
