Turkey will block entries and exits with the walls at borders: Erdoğan

Turkish President Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, who was inspecting the Iranian borderline, and received information about the measures and addressed the units at point zero.

“With the walls that we have built at the borders, we will entirely block entries and exits. Because the walls around these borders serve as our safety and security walls,” Erdoğan said.

Minister of National Defense Akar, accompanied by Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler, Land Forces Commander Gen. Musa Avsever, and Commander of the 2nd Army Gen. Metin Gürak, assessed the measures taken on the Iranian border on Saturday.

Following the aerial and ground inspections, Akar and the commanders met with Governor Mehmet Emin Bilmez of Van and the commanders of the border troops at the 6th Border Brigade Command.

Following the meeting, during which the measures were once again discussed, Minister Akar talked over the phone with Erdoğan and briefed him on the progress of the work.

Erdoğan addressed the commanders of the border soldiers, saying: “We are in the midst of a period of extremes, with floods on one side and fires on the other. Aside from all these, there is also a rumor problem. I believe that you will resolve the problems arising due to these rumors. We must also overcome these obstacles, as Turkey is experiencing a terror of lies.

Together, we will overcome this terror of lies. Particularly with the walls that we have built at the borders, we will entirely block entries and exits. Because the walls around these borders serve as our safety and security walls. If you succeed in this, the Turkish Armed Forces and our security forces will be relieved of some of their burdens. With these sentiments, I congratulate you and wish you continued success.”
