Turkey's annual inflation drops to 8.55% in October

Annual consumer inflation in Turkey has reduced to 8.55% in October, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said Monday.

The consumer price index (CPI) marked a sharp decline compared to 25.24% in October 2018.

The annual inflation went down 0.71 percentage points in October, down from 9.26% in September and saw an annual hike of 8.55% in consumer prices in October, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said Monday.

The highest annual price increase was in alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 43.60%, followed by health with 14.24%, and education with 14.20%.

The highest monthly decrease in inflation was seen in the recreation and culture category with 0.59%.
